1. Introduction

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how the Gallery application accesses, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our services.

Gallery is designed to provide photo and video browsing, albums, search, people and places grouping, memories, photo editing, a private vault, a recycle bin, call-end and charging screens, and optional Home Launcher functionality.

By using Gallery, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Permissions and Access

Our application requests permissions only when they are required to provide specific features. The following explains how these permissions and Android roles are used.

1. Photos and Videos Access

Permissions:

android.permission.READ_MEDIA_IMAGES

android.permission.READ_MEDIA_VIDEO

android.permission.READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTED

Usage:

These permissions allow Gallery to display, organize, search, edit, share, and manage the photos and videos on your device. If you choose to give access to selected photos only, Gallery works only with the items you select.

2. Media Location Access

Permission:

android.permission.ACCESS_MEDIA_LOCATION

Usage:

This permission lets Gallery read the location data (EXIF) saved inside your photos and videos. It is used to group media by place and show locations on your device. Location data is not used for advertising.

3. People and Face Grouping

Usage:

Gallery may use on-device face detection (Google ML Kit) to group photos by the people in them. Face grouping is processed on your device. We do not upload your face data or photos to our servers.

4. Notifications

Permission:

android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS

Usage:

This permission allows Gallery to send notifications such as:

Memory and highlight notifications

Reminders

Cleanup and storage suggestions

Other important application notifications

You can manage notification permission through Android settings.

5. Phone and Calling Functionality

Permissions:

android.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE

android.permission.CALL_PHONE

Usage:

These permissions support call-related features, such as detecting when a call ends so Gallery can show the call-end screen and offer quick calling actions. Gallery does not record calls or read call content.

6. Default Home Launcher Functionality

Role / Access:

Android Default Home / Launcher Role

Android-supported launcher APIs and related access

Usage:

Gallery may optionally request to become your device's Default Home Launcher. This allows features such as the home screen, app drawer, widgets, a custom navigation bar, and a Recent apps screen.

7. Overlay and System Alert Window

Permission:

android.permission.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW

Usage:

When the required Android access is enabled by you, this permission may allow Gallery to display supported floating or overlay screens over other applications, such as the call-end, charging, or app install/uninstall screens.

8. Full-Screen Notification

Permission:

android.permission.USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT

Usage:

Where supported and permitted by Android and applicable Google Play requirements, this permission may be used for eligible time-sensitive notifications that need your immediate attention. It is not used for ordinary advertisements or promotional content.

9. Internet and Network Access

Permissions:

android.permission.INTERNET

android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE

Usage:

These permissions are used to show advertisements, load app configuration, and provide analytics and crash reporting. Core gallery features such as viewing, organizing, and editing media work on your device without an internet connection.

10. App Management

Permissions:

android.permission.REQUEST_DELETE_PACKAGES

android.permission.KILL_BACKGROUND_PROCESSES

Usage:

These permissions are used for launcher features, such as letting you uninstall an app from the app drawer and clearing recent apps. Gallery asks for your confirmation before an app is uninstalled.

11. Device Restart and Scheduling

Permissions:

android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED

android.permission.SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM

Usage:

These permissions allow Gallery to restore supported functionality after the device restarts and to deliver time-sensitive features such as reminders. Alarms are not scheduled for advertising or promotional purposes.

12. Advertising Identifier

Permission:

com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID

Usage:

Used to support in-app advertising and analytics services, providing relevant ads and improving user experience.
